Bus tickets will be required to board the bus. All applicants who have paid in full by the 1st will receive their bus pass in the first week of the month. On the bus pass will be the student’s name and route number. If you do not receive your pass by 2nd week, please contact Ngwenya Travel & Tours via e-mail or telephone.
A request for a replacement bus ticket will have to be made on the lost bus pass form duly filled and signed and mailed with a proof of payment for the replacement fee. Click here to fill the Bus Pass Replacement form.
Bus routes for the school year are processed 15 days after the application deadline date. If a student is to change his/her address after that time, Ngwenya Travel & Tours will try to accommodate the student to the best of their ability. Subject to availability, the student will be accommodated on an alternate route at an existing stop location and may have a longer walk distance. There will be no refunds granted due to an address change occurring 15 days after the deadline.
However, we suggest that if parents are aware of the new location ahead of time that they fill out the application accordingly.
A request for address change after 15 days of application deadline, will have to be made on the address change form duly filled and signed and mailed with a cheque for the administration fee.
Non Sufficient Funds
Your application will not be processed if your cheque is returned back to us as an NSF. All NSF cheques must be replaced immediately by certified cheques and must include the R200 NSF service charge.
Number of buses is decided on the basis of the number of students who apply for busing. Therefore parents must commit to the busing program for a full year. If you no longer require busing from us, in order to receive a refund, you must find a replacement for your seat that has already been reserved for you.
Withdrawals can be made within 15 days after the application deadline for a refund. There will be an administrative fee of R800.
After 15 days of the application deadline refunds are only granted on providing a replacement rider. There will be an administrative fee of R500.
If the target walk distance, as mentioned in the application package is not achieved, you will have the option of a full refund provided you notify the Ngwenya Travel & Tours program in writing within 10 days of receiving your confirmation e-mail. It is not applicable to one-way riders, late applicants and address change riders, since they are accommodated on existing stop locations.
We may not be able to provide busing for each and every student who requests it. If we are not able to provide busing for any reason, you will be notified and a full refund will be given.
Each year the bus routes are structured to accommodate the students enrolled in regional programs as per boundary defined by school boards to the best of our ability. Each school year the bus routes change and are based on the applications received before the application deadline. We will do our best to provide the closest and safest stop to each rider. Safety and efficiency are key considerations in creating the bus routes. Drivers are not permitted to make any changes in stop locations. Please note that students are not to ask the bus driver to drop or pick them up at other locations. We will strive to have a distance of less than 750 meters from the student’s home to the bus stop.
One way applications are processed only after all prior applications have been accommodated and only if space is still available and are accommodated on existing stops. Parents will be responsible for getting students to existing stops as one-way riders will be accommodated on existing stop locations and riders may have to walk a distance more than 750 meters.
